First Steps in Starting an Instrument Group

Led by: Nicola Screen

This session aims to give you the confidence to establish an instrumental ensemble at your school.  Suitable for non-specialists as well as those with more experience, it will include practical activities and discussion focused on how to establish a mixed ability instrumental ensemble of any type.

Participants will take away:

  • Ideas for how to run rehearsals efficiently and easily
  • Tips for how to support the children in performing successfully together as an ensmeble
  • Suggestions for how to source and arrange music that will enable the children to sound fantastic very quickly!
