IndependentMusic Hub Board Co-Chair positions (Closing Date 3rd January 2025)
We are seeking two exceptional individuals to lead our Hub Board together:
- An experienced chair with governance background
- A young person (aged 18-25) with experience of music education
These positions will work in partnership, sharing board leadership responsibilities. The model reflects our commitment to embedding youth voice throughout our governance structure.

Education sector representatives
· 1 Secondary School Lead representative
· 1 Primary School Lead representative
· 1 SEND/Alternative Provision Lead representative
Youth voice (remunerated positions)
· 2 Young People aged 18-25
These positions will be paid to ensure economic barriers do not prevent participation
All expenses covered
Professional development and mentoring support provided
Specialist representatives
· 1 EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) champion
· 2 music industry/business representatives
· 2 community music organisation/individual representatives · 1 Early Years music representative

Swindon Music Service is always looking for new tutors to assist with delivering services to schools and the local community. Appointments are through an hourly paid Workers contract that attracts Holiday Pay, Statutory Sick Pay and a Pension scheme.

The ideal candidate
We're looking for someone who has experience in instrument stock management and events organisation with the following qualities:
- The ability to manage the Platform hire scheme
- A clear understanding of musical instruments and the ability to manage the stock
- Experience in stock management
- Experience of repairing musical instruments
- Strongly driven by results and impact
- Good team building skills
- Experience in project management of events and bookings
- Adaptability and resilience in the face of challenges
The successful candidate will need a full driving licence with business insurance.
