Tuition Subsidy Requests for 2024-25
Swindon Music service has inherited the new online portal for gathering instrumental / vocal tuition subsidy requests from January 2025. This portal is still being adjusted for the next academic year
Interim Period
There are two options:
- If you already have subsidies allocated for this year and one or more pupils have stopped lessons, then the school can direct the subsidy to the new pupils, providing they meet the criteria. (See below)
- If the school has not applied for subsidies this academic year, or they require further funding (within the maximum calculated for their school), they can apply using the interim application form above
Criteria for subsidies:
- Pupils in receipt of Pupil Premium OR free school meals – 70% of the cost of lessons
- Children with SEN/D (although an EHCP is not required) – 70% of the cost of lessons
- Looked-after Children – 100% of the cost of the lessons (50% from us and 50% from the child’s Pupil Premium Plus budget as agreed with the Virtual School)
Associate tutors must be paid the equivalent of between £30.40 and £40.80 per hour for their teaching work. We will NOT provide subsidies where the hourly rate is lower than this.
The deadlines to ensure your requests are ready for academic year 2025-2026 are:
- 1st July 2025 & 22nd September 2025
- April (Term 5 & 6) 2026
For schools wishing to claim for pupils who continue from previous years support, request received after 22nd September cannot be guaranteed
